CFL got wet so Can I let them dry out
General Technical Stuff May 10th, 2007I purchased a couple of boxes of cfs to do the house, however when it rained and the globes were on the floor in the garage they all got wet. Can I let them dry out or? Also will the new CFs take longer and more detrimental to the enviroment when put in the rubbish.

The CFLs have electronic components in them which certainly do not like being wet. I would not take the risk!
As far as landfill concerns I think CFLs are a positive thing. If a CFL lasts 10,000 hours say, then we are only using 1 CFL for what would have equated to 10 standard light bulbs.
Australia has also started a recycling facility which will start re-use all the materials in fluro lamps.
You can find out more about the recycling facility here:

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
