Do 20 Watt SES Lava Lamp Globes Exist?
Incandescent May 22nd, 2007Hi,
we are trying to get a lava lamp working again- it uses a R39 20W reflector with a 14mm screw thread, we have been unable to source this bulb and have proved that a 25W is dangerous and a 15W doesn’t work.
We wondered whether you could help?
btw great website
thank you,

Hi there
This isn’t the first enquiry I have had for this type of lava lamp and I am sure it wont be the last.
Unfortunately it seems that the bulb that came out with these lamps is an orphan.
I have recommended that you should not play with these types of lamps by experimenting with other sized globes and it sounds like you have discovered this first hand. What happened when you used a brighter globe?
Did the liquid start to boil?
I have access to numerous suppliers and a few speciality suppliers and unfortuntaely this lava lamp just isn’t available.
If you happen to source them locally I would love to be able to pass this info onto other people.
In the meantime please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Kind regards,
Daniel

I am also trying to locate the same lava light bulb – a 30W doesn’t actually turn on. The base does state maximum 25w so I am curious to know why the other posting stated unsafe, and where they located a 25w from
Thanks
